Meet Our Leadership Team

Founder & President
Minna Xu
Minna Xu is a student at Columbia University, serving as the Founder and President of ReMark. Stepping into high school, she realized the profound impact climate change education in her middle school had on her and the absence of comprehensive climate education at her current school. Inspired by her research issue paper in her U.S. history class, where she delved deeper into the critical need for climate education, she founded ReMark. Through ReMark, Minna strives to cultivate a community of informed individuals united and empowered to combat climate change.

Through an internship with Representative Debbie Dingell on Capitol Hill, she has gained insights into renewable energy and environmental policy. These research opportunities inspired her to continue expanding her nonprofit, Pawsitively Natural, which repurposes fast-food leftovers into eco-friendly dog treats, tackling food waste creatively. With her experience, Roshni will ensure ReMark’s success in promoting sustainability, education, and positive environmental impact.

So, the last thing she wanted to see was any disruption to her beloved landscape. As her personal experience with climate change has become more tangible in recent years, Xin realized that everyone should contribute to addressing the pressing climate crisis: we depend on nature, but future generations depend on us. In her role as the Philadelphia Chapter President, she aims to work closely with her school’s gardening club to encourage more active community participation in helping our planet. Meanwhile, with her interest in engineering, she plans to collaborate with her partners in Tech Innovation, her senior-year independent study, to explore novel approaches to a more sustainable future.

There are so many ways humans anthropogenically harm the environment but there are also so many fascinating innovations that people have created to help improve the environment each day. She realized that in Houston there isn't as much of an emphasis on sustainable practices compared to northeastern parts of the US, and she is hoping to bring more awareness about the environment to her city starting from her school and community.
